Grade 8.8 Carriage Bolt
Carriage bolts are chosen based on their strength grade, which correlates with the pressure they can handle. Carbon steel carriage bolts come in performance grades of 3.6, 4.6, and 4.8, adhering to GB3098.1 standards. Stainless steel carriage bolts, on the other hand, are typically made from austenitic stainless steel due to its excellent corrosion and heat resistance, as well as its weldability. A1, A2, A4, SUS304, and SUS316 are all commonly used types of austenitic stainless steel. SUS304 and SUS316 are both ductile and easily formed in cold temperatures and remain non-magnetic under normal conditions. After cold processing, 304 slightly retains magnetic properties, while 316 only retains a small amount of magnetism compared to 304.

Application Area of Grade 8.8 Carriage Bolt
The applications of square neck carriage bolts is not very large. For example, GB12 carriage bolts are similar to DIN603 carriage bolts. They are generally used in grooves. When tightening, the bolt rod will not rotate due to function of the square neck, which is convenient for fixing and installation. The carriage bolt can move in parallel in the slot. Since head of the carriage bolt is round, there is no design of available power tools such as cross grooves or hexagon sockets, and it can also play a role in preventing theft in the actual connection process.
The carriage bolt is used in some special occasions because of its particularity, such as shelves, cabinets and other fields.
